Introducing a New Men’s Education Group

“I wish ReachOut was around when my parents were going through their divorce years ago. I feel as if my brothers and I wouldn’t have had to experience what we did if they understood the impacts of violence, and what that does to a child."

I can’t change what happened, but I know it doesn’t define me.

Tanya’s first contact with Aviva was through the 0800 support line when she reached out for help for herself and her children. This is her story.

Aviva launches media campaign for Sexual Assault Awareness Month

“Asking For It… To Stop” is a campaign calling the community to action – to prevent sexual violence.

Aviva a Finalist for Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year

“We see this as acknowledgement of not just the current team at Aviva, but even more importantly, those we have worked with to overcome the violence they have experienced."

A note from Nicki and Gwenda

At the close of our 50th year, we would like to thank everyone who has been on this journey with us since 1973.

I don’t know how I used to pick myself up each day and put a smile on my face.

When Ruth came to Aviva, she and her daughter Jessica were going through a tough time. Now they’re feeling safer.

"Just knowing that there's someone who understands, someone who'll listen... knowing that you're not alone, that there's somebody who cares, it makes a huge difference; all the difference. Thanks to Aviva, I knew I wasn't alone, and I found hope again.
