For twenty-four-year-old Skyler (she/they), life was moving in exactly the right direction... until they were raped. Although life has been pretty challenging the past few years, with dedication and the right support, things are much more positive today.

It would be easy to write this off as an anomaly, but if we want to make sure this never happens again, we must examine what role we all have in preventing this behaviour.

MEDIA RELEASE, 24.08.23, on the Jaz brothers' sentencing

Today, at 3.40pm, Danny and Roberto Jaz were sentenced to 16 and a half and 17 years imprisonment respectively, with a minimum non-parole period of 50% of their sentences. When, typically, few sentences feel adequate enough, today was honouring of the survivors who have given so much of themselves to achieve this outcome.
