Aviva's 50th Celebration - tickets available now!

2023 marks 50 years since we opened our doors as Christchurch Women's Refuge. Our foundation in 1973 was the beginning of the family violence refuge movement and changed the social landscape of New Zealand permanently.

We're inviting all those who have journeyed with us for the last 50 years, supporters, workers and clients, to join us in celebrating this vital mahi.

"There should be no shame in experiencing violence; it could happen to anyone"

When Jody came to Aviva, she and her three kids were going through a really difficult time. A year later, they are feeling safer. Jody tells her story.
